About
Hi, I’m Jen.
I was diagnosed with ADHD in my mid 30’s.
Before my diagnosis, I didn’t understand why I perpetually struggled with Chaos.
I thought that I wasn’t as smart or as capable as other people.
I assumed I was lazy, because I couldn’t accomplish simple tasks.
I wondered if I was sick, because I felt tired all the time.
I felt like I wasn’t good enough, because I had to work so much harder than my successful peers.
I fought hard for success in school, staying up all night to finish projects that were left to the last minute.
I I struggled in my career as a librarian, missing deadlines, chronically arriving late, and forgetting important tasks.
I thought I was incapable of living any other way.
Since being diagnosed, I understand that Chaos is part of who I am, not a problem that I need to fix. I’ve learned my triggers and weaknesses, and how to work around them. I know that I am as capable as others, and that I might simply need to do things differently.
I understand now that I am not broken.
I understand now that the world is not setup for people like me.
We only feel broken because the world caters to the non-Chaotic.
Now, I help others with their Chaos, Neurodivergent or not.
